FAILURE?

When it looks like I have failed.
Lord are you trying to tell me something?

Failure doesn't mean I'm a failure.
It does mean I haven't yet succeeded.

Failure doesn't mean I have accomplished nothing.
It does mean I have learned something.

Failure doesn't mean I have been a fool.
It does mean I had enough faith to experiment.

Failure doesn't mean I have been disgraced.
It does mean I dared to try.

Failure doesn't mean I don't have it.
It does mean I have to do something a different way.

Failure doesn't mean I am inferior.
It does mean I am not perfect.

Failure doesn't mean I should give up.
It does mean I should try harder.

Failure doesn't mean you have abandoned me.It does mean you have a better idea. ....Amen.

LET EVERY DAY BE A GOOD DAY

"Imagine Life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them - work, family, health, friends and spirit; and you are keeping all these in the air. You will soon understand work is a rubber ball. Even if you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls - family, health, friends and spirit - are made of glass. If You drop one of them, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for balance in your life."

How??????????????????

Dont undermine your worth by comparing yourselfs with others. It is because we are different that each of us is special.

Dont set your goal by what other people deem inportant. Only you know what is best to you.

Dont take for granted the things cloest to your heart. Cling to them as you would your life, for without them, life is meaningless.

Dont let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past or for the future. Be living your life one day at a time, you live all the days of your life.

Dont give up when you still have something to give. Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.

Dont be afraid to admit that you are less then perfect. It is the fragile thread that binds as to each together.

Dont shut Love out of your life by saying it is impossible to find time. The quickest way to recive love is to give. The fastest way to lose Love is to hold it tightlyl; and the best way to keep love is to give it wings.

Dont run through life so fast that you forget not only where you've been but also where you are going.

Dont forget a person's greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated.

Dont be afraid to learn - Knowledge is weightless, a treasure you can always carry easily.

Dont use time or word carelessly. Neither can retrived.Life is not race, but a journey to be savoured each step of the way.

"I Threw Out..."

Last week I threw out Worrying,
It was getting old and in the way.
It kept me from being me;
I couldn't do things my way.

I threw out those Inhibitions;
They were just crowding me out.
Made room for my New Growth,
Got rid of my old dreams and doubts.

I threw out a book on My Past
(didn't have time to read it anyway)
Replaced it with New Goals,
Started reading it today.

I threw out childhood toys
Remember how I treasured them so?
Got me a new Philosophy too,
Threw out the one from long ago

Brought in some new books too,
Called I Can, I Will, and I Must.
Threw out I might, I think and I ought.
Wow! You should've seen the dust.

I picked up this special thing
And placed it at the front door.
I Found It -- its called Peace
Nothing gets me down anymore.

Yes, I've got my house looking nice.
Looks good around the place
For things like Worry and Trouble
There just isn't any place.

Its good to do a little house cleaning,
Get rid of the old things on the shelf.
It sure makes things brighter
Thank you God for cleaning up my-self.

Could n’t you tolerate……for one day?

Long, long ago in Arabia there lived a very pious old man by name Arab, who was a great devotee and lover of God and men. He served all with love in the name of God. All over Arabia his name became renowned for piety and hospitality. One night when all the servants had gone to sleep and the whole family was fast asleep, someone knocked at the door. Arab was awakened by the loud knocks and opened the door. At the door stood an old unkempt man looking very exhausted and famished. He beseeched, “Can you give me some food, sir? I have been starving for past one week.”The Arab’s heart melted at the plight of the old man. He invited him in with great love, gave him a seat and went inside. The servants and his family members were working till late in the evening and were all tired. The Arab did not want to disturb them at that late hour to prepare food for the new guest. Instead he himself went into the kitchen, prepared some food quickly and brought it to the hall. He placed it before the old man and said, “Sir, please accept my hospitality in the name of the Lord and bless me. May the Lord’s name be praised!”The hungry man dragged the plate nearer and at once commenced eating the food, rudely saying, “Thank you for the food. But why in God’s name? Which God is there to be worshipped? It is all nonsense.”The Arab was stunned. He could not imagine that there could ever be a man who denied God. “Don’t you see sir, how the kind God provided food for you at this late hour from a stranger’s house? Could you have survived had not the loving God sustained you throughout your life? The old man was busy eating. He replied while greedily swallowing the food, “My dear Sir, why do you speak of God? Did you ever see him? It is your good nature that made you give me this food. I am grateful to you. I am not so silly as to waste my time thinking of a non-existing God.”

This was too much for the Arab. He could no longer contain himself. He burst out in anger, “So you do not believe in God. You feel that you can look after yourself without depending on God. If it is so, get out of my house. There is no place here for atheists.” In anger he took away the plate of food from the old man and pushed him out of the house and closed his door. Burning with indignation, he went to bed, prayed to the Lord and fell asleep. Then the Lord appeared to the Arab in dream and asked, “Son, why did you push away the poor man before he had his meal? H was very hungry. Why did you not allow him to eat the food in full? The Arab trembled before the Almighty Lord and said, “Lord, I was prepared to give him more food also if he wanted. But when he denied you again and again it was too much for me to tolerate.”The Lord smiled and said, “Son, he had been denying Me for the last ninety years. Even then I gave him food twice a day all these years. Could you not tolerate him for one day for My sake?”The Arab hung his head in shame. Shedding tears from his eyes, he prostrated to the Lord and said, “You are the Lord of Love. I now know how kind you are in tolerating our mistakes and still giving us what we need. My God, in future let me have the same love for all the beings in the world. Let me not be angry with any one for any reason. Please pardon me for this lapse.”

Disappointments

When disappointments come one day,
And they most certainly will.
The way in which I respond to them,
Will determine how I feel.

If I let myself get discouraged,
I’ll feel distraught, sad and alone.
But by looking to God and trusting Him,
I can face the future’s unknown.

Could it be that God is testing me?
Or wanting me to confront some sin?
Could it be that He is chastening me?
So He can cleanse my soul within?

I will pray to God and ask Him.
Have I somehow slipped from Your will?
Guide and direct me to stay on Your path.
So Your plans for me I can fulfill.

Help me discern where I went astray.
For I shouldn’t be feeling so down.
Trials should be making me stronger,
Not keeping me captive and bound.

You tell me to rejoice in my troubles,
And trust You for You’ll see me through.
I can face all life’s disappointments,
If I remember I always have You.

i asked GOD ...

I asked God to take away my pain.
God said, no.
It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.
God said, no.
His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary.

I asked God to grant me patience.
God said, no.
Patience is a by-product of tribulations; it isn’t granted, it is earned.

I asked God to give me happiness.
God said, no.
I give you blessings, happiness is up to you.

I asked God to spare the pain.
God said, no.
Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.

I asked God to make my spirit grow.
God said, no.
You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.

I asked for all things so that I might enjoy life.
God said, no.
I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things.

I asked God to help me LOVE others as much as He loves me.
God said…. Ahhh, at last you have the idea.

summer of 69

I got my first real six-string
Bought it at the five-and-dime
Played 'til my fingers bled
It was summer of '69
Me and some guys from school

Had a Band and we tried real hard
Jimmy quit and Jody got married
I shualda known we'd never get far
Oh when I lock back now

That was seemes to last forever
And if I had the choiceYa - I'd always wanna be there
Those were the best days of my life

(Chorus) Back in Summer of '69

Ain't no use in complainin'
When you got a job to do
Spent my evenin's down at the drive in
And that's when I met you
Standin on a mama's porch

You told me that you'd wait forever
Oh and when you held my hand
I knew that it was no or never
Those were the best days of my life

(Chorus) Back in Summer of '69

Man we were killin' time
We were young and restless
We needed to unwindI guess nothin' can last forever, no
And now the times are changin'

Look at everything that's come and gone
Somethimes when I play that old six-string
I think about ya wonder what went wrong
Standin' on a mama's porch

You told me it would last forever
Oh the way you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life

(Chorus) Back in summer of '69

"TODAY"

Today before you think of saying an unkind word
Think of someone who can't speak.
Before you complain about the taste of your food
Think of someone who has nothing to eat.
Before you complain about your husband or wife
Think of someone who's crying out to God for a companion.
Today before you complain about life
Think of someone who went too early to heaven.
Before you complain about your children
Think of someone who desires children but they're barren.
Before you argue about your dirty house, someone didn't clean or sweep
Think of the people who are living in the streets.
Before whining about the distance you drive
Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.
And when you are tired and complain about your job
Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job
But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another
Remember that not one of us is without sin and we all answer to one maker.
And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down
Put a smile on your face and thank God you're alive and still around.
Life is a gift, Live it, Enjoy it, Celebrate it And fulfill it.

Interview with GOD

I dreamed I had an interview with God.

"So, you would like to interview me?" God asked.
"If you have the time," I said.

God smiled. "My time is eternity; what questions do you
have in mind to ask me?”

"What surprises you most about humankind?..."

GOD ANSWERED...

"That they get bored with childhood - they rush to grow up and then long to be children again.

That they lose their health to make money and then lose their money to restore their health.

That by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live in neither the present nor the future.

That they live as if they will never die, and they die as if they had never lived..."

God's hands took mine and we were silent for while and then
I asked...

"As a parent, what are some of life's lessons you want your children to learn?"

God replied with a smile:

"To learn that they cannot make anyone love them. What they can do is to let themselves be loved.

To learn that what is most valuable is not what they have in their lives,
but who they have in their lives. To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others.

To learn that a rich person is not the one who has the most, but is one who needs the least.

To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in persons one loves,
and that it may take many years to heal them.

To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness.
To learn that there are persons who love them dearly,
but simply do not know how to express or show their feelings.

To learn that money can buy everything but ...
HAPPINESS!!!!

To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see it very differently.

To learn that it is not always enough that they be forgiven by others,
but that they must also forgive themselves.

And to learn that I am here -- ALWAYS"
